Made the traditional way, this soap bar uses a saponified coconut base blended with activated bamboo charcoal - not synthetic detergents. It cleanses deeply without harsh sulphates, lifting away sweat, oil and the day's build-up while coconut and olive oil keep skin comfortable.

How It Feels:

What kind of soap is this?

It's a handmade bar made from a saponified coconut base — real soap, made the traditional way, rather than a synthetic detergent bar. Activated bamboo charcoal is blended in along with coconut oil, olive oil and glycerine. No SLS, SLES or parabens.

What does it smell like?

Mild and clean. Charcoal itself has no scent, so what you get is a soft, slightly nutty note from the coconut and olive oil base. There's no synthetic fragrance added, and nothing lingers on the skin afterwards — handy if you use a separate deodorant or perfume.

Will the black bar stain my towels or shower?

No — the charcoal rinses away with the lather. What can happen is a faint grey film settling on light-coloured flannels or a white shower base if the bar sits in standing water. Give the bar a quick rinse after use and keep it on a draining dish and you won't notice it.

How does it feel on the skin?

It lathers into a soft, creamy foam rather than a big squeaky one, and rinses cleanly. Skin is left feeling properly clean and smooth rather than tight. If your skin runs dry, follow with a moisturiser while you're still slightly damp.
